Industrial Grade Fans and Ventilation Equipment are generally designed for continuous use applications and are often made of heavier grade materials. Materials can range from Carbon Steel to Aluminum, Galvanized Steel, Fiberglass and Stainless Steel. The construction and component parts are often heavier in thickness such as the fan housing  or rotating equipment such as the impeller or backward incline blower wheel and even the power transmission products that you typically find on belt driven industrial grade fans can be different.
Examples of power transmission products used in the construction of industrial quality belt driven wall axial fans are pillow block ball bearings instead of sleeve bearings or bronze bushing type bearings, the sheaves are often cast iron versus stamped steel, and the motors are often but not always odp (open drip proof), totally enclosed air over or totally enclosed fan cooled motors or even explosion proof motors when explosive or combustible gases are present.
With the increased life cycle of an industrial grade fan generally comes an increase in cost. However, the initial increase in cost of your fresh air supply fan or your roof mounted exhaust fan can lead to less money spent on maintenance or replacement costs. Down time, loss of productivity, employee discomfort, product damage and facility damage are things that can happen when your ventilation fan fails or doesn't perform properly.

Types of  Ventilation Products available  in industrial grade are wall axial exhaust fans, wall axial supply fans, wall axial reversible fans, wall centrifugal upblast or downblast exhaust, inline fans or tube axial fans, circulation fans, ceiling exhaust fans, permanent mount or portable blowers, laboratory exhaust, fume exhaust plenum fans, man and product coolers, louvers, fresh air supply shutters, operable louvers. At Airdistributor Company, we have the ability to customize some of the products on this page to meet your design criteria. Special rust inhibitive coatings such as epoxy or heresite are available.

Propeller Type  industrial wall exhaust and roof exhaust fans are often available with different propeller designs. Fixed blade models are designed for high efficiency, low noise and low speed operation. They are intended for general building exhaust applications where overall static pressure is low and there is no or little duct work. They are an excellent choice for stagnant air,  heat, smoke or light dust removal and when air circulation is required. The number of blades found on an wall exhaust fan and roof exhaust fan can also effect the performance level. Generally, four bladed exhaust fans quite often loose their performance or cubic feet per minute faster as the static pressure raises than say a six bladed industrial exhaust fan running at the same speed or rpm.

Industrial Ceiling Fans  are different than commercial grade ceiling fans. When talking about the 3 blade ceiling fan design type, industrial ceiling fans are typically available in sizes up to 60 inch ceiling fans and small industrial ceiling fans can go down to 36 inch in size. Industrial ceilings typically but not always have a sealed motor making them an excellent choice in high moisture or dirty locations. Industrial ceiling fans can often be used as outdoor ceiling fans under covered porches or gazebos because of this feature. Please consult the manufacturer's literature to see if this is possible. Industrial ceiling fans typically do not come with lights. Industrial ceiling fans with lights are usually just residential ceiling fans made to look industrial. The CFM or performance level of an industrial grade ceiling fan and RPM or revolutions per minute are usually an indicator as to how the ceiling fan will perform. Industrial grade ceiling fans typically have a much higher velocity than a residential grade or even a commercial grade ceiling fan. This is an important feature for higher mounting heights. The extra velocity is needed to overcome the greater distances often associated with an industrial installation. Large industrial ceiling fans are often called HVLS or High Volume Low Speed ceiling fans. This class of ceiling fans typically have a much lower RPM and greater square foot coverage because of the multiple blades and larger sizes available. But the product and installation costs are often higher as well. Most industrial ceiling fans are limited in color availability such as white. But, alternative colors such as black ceiling fans and brown ceiling fans and even silver or brushed aluminum ceiling fans are available in select sizes.
